Can I use my Garden Room all year round?

 

Yes, our Garden rooms are fully insulated to the standard of a new build house and are warm all year round.

 

Do your Garden Rooms comply with Building Regulations?

 

Yes, to have an electrical supply to your garden room you will need a Part P compliant EIC certificate which we will arrange with our qualified electrician.

 

Will I need planning permission?

 

Garden rooms are classed as Permitted Development so there should not be any planning issues with our standard room designs unless there are special circumstances, which we will point out on first inspection.  If you choose a Garden Room which is below 2.5m in height, and you are not a listed building or in a special zone, you can fit it anywhere in your rear or side garden without a Planning Application being required.

 

Is there a Damp-Proof Membrane between the earth and the underside of my garden building?

 

Yes, we fit heavy duty DPM across the whole of the base of the concrete raft as standard ensuring your floor will always remain dry.

 

How long does it take to assemble on-site?

 

Our skilled tradesmen will typically take from 6 to 10 working days on average to build your garden room, but this of course will dependent on the building size or other special circumstances.

What is the internal finish?

 

We use traditional plasterboard and skim as this gives the same finish and feeling of your home and offers fire protection better than panelling which can feel cheap and cold.

 

 

What is the Roof made of?

 

For our flat roof models with a 3 inch slope we use PermaBond EPDM rubber roofing system which is unmatched in terms of longevity and performance, offering 100% waterproofing over an expected lifespan of more than 50 years.
